Terms of Service

1. What Rishte is

Rishte is a matchmaking service for people seeking marriage, and for families helping them. We suggest possible matches and explain why, we let members express interest and talk once both agree, and through Concierge we offer help from human matchmakers.

We do not arrange marriages. We do not guarantee that you will find a match, or that any member is who they say they are beyond the checks described on our Safety page.

2. Who may use Rishte

You may use Rishte only if:

• you are 18 or older, and old enough to marry under the law that applies to you;
• you are seeking marriage and are legally free to marry. Where the law allows a married man to marry again, he may use Rishte as a married member only if he declares it in his profile;
• you have not been removed from Rishte before;
• you will follow these Terms and the law.

One account per person. Each person may have only one profile of their own.

Family managers. A family member may create and manage a profile for a relative only with that relative’s knowledge and consent. The profile goes live only after the relative confirms it with their own phone. The relative remains responsible for their profile and their conversations.

3. Your account

• You sign in with your mobile number and a one-time code. Keep your phone secure.
• You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has used it.
• We may suspend sign-in from a device if we suspect misuse.

4. Your profile and content

• Accuracy. Everything in your profile must be true, current and about you, or about the relative you manage it for. This includes photos, age, marital status, children, education, work and family details.
• Photos must be of you, recent, show your face clearly, be appropriate, and not include other people’s children. We review photos before others can see them, and may reject them.
• No contact details. Do not put phone numbers, email addresses, social media handles or links in your profile text. Share contact details in chat only when you choose to.
• Your rights. You keep ownership of what you post. You give us a licence to store, display and process it, only to run Rishte as described in our Privacy Policy, until you delete it or your account.

5. How you must behave

You must not:

• harass, threaten, insult or pressure anyone, or contact someone who has declined or blocked you through other means;
• ask for or send money, gifts, financial details or investments, or promote any business;
• pretend to be someone else, create fake profiles, or misrepresent your marital status, age or intentions;
• use Rishte for anything other than seeking marriage, for example dating without marriage intent, recruitment or marketing;
• share another member’s information, photos or messages outside Rishte without their permission;
• post anything sexual, hateful, violent, illegal or discriminatory, or that encourages others to break the law;
• use automated tools, scrape data, or try to get around limits, privacy settings or security;
• use Rishte if you are under 18, or help anyone under 18 to use it.

Report anyone who breaks these rules. Blocking and reporting are free and available to everyone.

6. Our moderation

To keep Rishte safe, we may review profiles, photos and reports, including messages that are reported to us; reject content; limit how many interests an account can send; and warn, suspend or permanently remove accounts that break these Terms. Where reasonable, we will tell you why. Our staff can see member information only when their role requires it, and every view is recorded.

7. Paid plans

Rishte is free to use. Paid plans (Premium and Elite) and one-off purchases such as profile Boosts add more daily matches, more interests and extra tools. Current prices are shown on our Pricing page and before you pay.

• Payment. Plans are bought on the Rishte website, by card, through our payment provider. The price shown before you pay is the amount you are charged.
• Renewal. Plans renew automatically at the end of each term unless you switch off auto-renewal. You can switch it off at any time, and your plan then continues until the end of the term you paid for. If auto-renewal is off, we remind you 7 days and 1 day before your plan ends.
• Changes to plans. We may change plan features or prices. A price change applies only from your next renewal, and we will tell you in advance. If we change a plan’s features, we may keep your current features until your term ends, or move you to the new version straight away, depending on the change.
• No refunds. All payments for plans, Boosts and Concierge are final and are not refunded, including when you switch off auto-renewal, stop using Rishte, delete your account, or your account is removed for breaking these Terms. This does not affect any refund the law requires us to give.
• Safety is never paid. Blocking, reporting, privacy settings, private photos, receiving interests and chatting with mutual matches are free on every plan.
• Plans don’t change who you meet. A paid plan never shows you people whose requirements you don’t meet, or shows you to people whose requirements you don’t meet.

8. Concierge

Concierge is a paid service with a human matchmaker, who reviews your profile and preferences, proposes introductions and helps coordinate them. Every introduction needs both members to agree before anyone is put in touch. Concierge does not guarantee a marriage or a number of introductions. The price and what is included are shown before you buy.

9. Your safety

Meeting people online carries risks. We provide tools and checks, but you are responsible for your own decisions. Never send money, involve your family, meet first in a public place or at home with family, and report anything that worries you.

Identity verification confirms that a member’s selfie matches an identity document at the time it was checked. It is not a background check.

10. Ending your account

• You may stop using Rishte, pause your profile, or delete your account at any time from My profile. Your profile disappears at once, and your data is erased after 30 days as described in the Privacy Policy.
• We may suspend or end your account if you break these Terms or if we must for legal reasons.

11. Disclaimers and liability

• Rishte is provided “as is”. We work to keep it available and secure, but we do not promise it will always be available or error-free.
• We are not responsible for what members say or do, on or off Rishte. Members are responsible for their own conduct.
• Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
• Otherwise, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version with a new date. If a change is significant, we will tell you before it takes effect. If you continue to use Rishte after a change, you accept the new Terms.

13. Law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. The courts at Lahore, Pakistan have jurisdiction over any dispute about them or about Rishte. If you live outside Pakistan, you keep any protection that the law of your country gives you and that cannot be excluded by agreement.

These Terms are also available in Urdu. If the two versions differ, the English version applies.
